Key Initiative Areas

From healthcare camps to labour welfare, SVVGT covers the full spectrum of community development with real, field-level impact.

Health Initiatives
Blood Camps Eye Care HIV Awareness TB Programs Free Check-ups

In the health sector, SVVGT has conducted blood donation camps, including a landmark camp at Vijayapura Hobli, Channarayanapatna Government Hospital where over 250 volunteers participated and significant quantities of blood were collected and transferred to KC General Hospital, Bengaluru.

Free health check-up camps were organized at Siddarthnagar, Sidlaghatta, covering general health, eye care, skin treatment, and diagnostic services, in association with RL Jalappa Hospital. These camps directly served hundreds of underprivileged community members who had no access to quality healthcare.

Awareness programs on HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis were conducted at Government PU College, Sidlaghatta, and Ambedkar Bhavan, Chikkaballapur, mobilizing students and community members through campaigns and outreach activities.

In the field of education, SVVGT has worked extensively with nomadic and semi-nomadic communities by identifying thousands of students and facilitating access to government scholarships from primary to higher education levels. Awareness programs on free education, reservations, and scholarship schemes were conducted across all taluks of Chikkaballapur district.

These programs led to increased enrolment and participation among marginalized communities. Educational materials distribution programs and guidance initiatives have supported students in continuing their education, while efforts have also been made to promote computer literacy and awareness of institutional opportunities among rural youth.

SVVGT conducts scholarship awareness drives across all taluks of Chikkaballapur district, ensuring that eligible students from underprivileged backgrounds do not miss out on central and state government scholarship schemes.

100+ Villages Housing Schemes Roads Sanitation Drinking Water

SVVGT has undertaken significant community development initiatives, including surveys across more than 100 villages to identify the needs of nomadic and semi-nomadic communities. The organization facilitated access to housing schemes, resulting in financial assistance for hundreds of families and the construction of houses in multiple villages.

SVVGT has also supported the development of basic infrastructure such as roads, drainage systems, community halls, sanitation facilities, and drinking water access in selected villages across Bagepalli, Chikkaballapur, Sidlaghatta, and Chinthamani taluks.

Awareness programs on hygiene, sanitation, and basic civic facilities were conducted in coordination with local authorities, benefiting numerous households and contributing to healthier living conditions across rural Karnataka.

In the area of socio-economic empowerment, SVVGT has organized self-employment and skill development programs including mushroom cultivation training, tailoring training, and candle-making workshops for women and youth in rural areas. These initiatives have enabled participants to develop income-generating skills and move towards financial independence.

The organization has also supported the formation and strengthening of self-help groups (SHGs) and promoted livelihood opportunities at the community level, helping families break the cycle of poverty through skill-based enterprise development.

KBOCWWB 26 Districts RPL Kits Worker Registration Welfare Benefits

Extending its efforts into labour welfare, SVVGT supports the activities of JAYAKARNATAKA KATTADA MATTU ITARE NIRMAN KARMIKARA SANGHA, a trade union established in 2018. The initiative focuses on identifying unregistered construction workers, facilitating their registration under the Karnataka Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (KBOCWWB), and ensuring access to welfare benefits.

The organization has worked closely with the Labour Department in distributing RPL kits and conducting skill development training programs to improve workers' efficiency and livelihood stability. The trade union has expanded its presence across 26 districts of Karnataka, aiming to reach labour communities across the state.

Media & Awareness Initiative: Karnataka Karmikara Dwani

As part of its commitment to awareness, advocacy, and community empowerment, SVVGT initiated the monthly publication Karnataka Karmikara Dwani (ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರ ಧ್ವನಿ). The magazine serves as a structured communication platform aimed at representing the voices, challenges, and rights of labour communities across Karnataka.

The publication documents labour issues, spreads awareness about government schemes, and acts as a platform to represent the concerns and voices of workers across sectors. The magazine is developed based on field-level data, real case studies, and community interactions, and is used as a tool for awareness during outreach activities.
